We are pleased to inform you about the upcoming CEN and CENELEC activities in 2026.
On 15 January 2026, the third Steering Committee meeting of the SESEI 6 project (Seconded European Standardization Expert in India) was held in ETSI’s Brussels office, gathering all project partners: CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, several Directorates from the European Commission, and EFTA.
On 15 January 2026, Mr Dinesh Chand Sharma, representing the European Standardization Organizations (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI), the European Commission and EFTA in India through the SESEI 6 project (Seconded European Standardization Expert in India), delivered an offline presentation about the Indian standardization landscape.
On 14 January 2026, CEN and CENELEC participated in the 2026 first quarter meeting of the RNF (Réseau Normalisation et Francophonie) and presented the latest developments in CEN and CENELEC activities, including the long-standing cooperation with SCC (Standards Council of Canada) and projects on the African continent.

Between 17 and 21 November 2025, ASRO took part in Meeting Standards, a European awareness campaign organized by Small Business Standards (SBS) to highlight the role of standards in supporting the development and long-term success of small and medium-sized enterprises across Europe.
SBS is pleased to report the significant results of the third edition of the Meeting Standards campaign, held from November 17 to 21.
ANEC took part in CEN and CENELEC's event “Setting the Standard: A Strategic Dialogue for an Inclusive Standardization System” on 17 November 2025, where Deputy Director General of ANEC Chiara Giovannini joined a panel of societal and SME representatives. The audience was comprised of CEN and CENELEC Members and representatives of the EU institutions.
More than 1,000 interested parties from the European Commission, businesses, administration, science, and civil society reinforced how central standardization is as a lever for innovation and competitiveness. Over three days, the WE NORM THE FUTURE | Summit 2025 covered a wide range of topics, from expert talks on the European standardization strategy and circular economy to the annual construction conference. All formats focused on dialogue: intensive discussions were held along the entire value chain on how complex future issues can be translated into viable solutions with the help of standards.
The ETUC took part in the plenary meeting of the CEN-CENELEC Joint Technical Committee 21 on 'Artificial Intelligence', held from 18 to 21 November in Copenhagen. The meeting brought together delegates from across Europe, along with international observers, to advance the standards requested by the European Commission to support the implementation of the AI Act’s requirements for high-risk AI systems.
