Following the Putting Science into Standards (PSIS) workshop that took place in October 2025 on the topic of 3D bioprinting, a scientific article was published in the Trends in Biotechnology Journal, together with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD).

Background about the PSIS initiative
Putting-Science-Into-Standards (PSIS) is a joint initiative developed by CEN, CENELEC and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. Its aim is to facilitate the identification of emerging science and technology areas that could benefit from standardization to enable innovation and promote industrial competitiveness. PSIS events bring the scientific and standardization communities closer together with the aim to facilitate the exchange of views and identify areas of standardization needs.
