1 September 2026 – First Meeting for CEN Workshop PG5 ‘Code of practice for corrosion testing in molten salt reactor (MSR) environments’
A further branch of the CEN Nuclear Workshop 64 was recently launched, marking a new step towards developing a forward-thinking and comprehensive framework for MSR technologies that is safe, sustainable, and competitive. The Workshop brings together various research initiatives and seeks to harmonize corrosion testing methods across Europe.

1–3 September – Global Digital Collaboration Conference 2026
CEN and CENELEC act as co-organizers at the Global Digital Collaboration (GDC) 2026 in Geneva. The focus of the event is on the EUDI Wallet and Blockchain. Through inspiring keynotes, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, participants will exchange insights, share best practices, and discuss emerging trends shaping the digital landscape. Together, we will examine how digital technologies, standards, and international cooperation can unlock new opportunities for businesses, governments, and society at large.
7 September 2026 – Kick-off Meeting for CEN Workshop ‘BIO-SUSHY’
A new Workshop under CEN is being launched to develop safe and sustainable alternatives for packaging in the cosmetics, paint, and plastics industries. The Workshop is based on research conducted as part of the BIO-SUSHY project, and is foreseen to develop three CWAs that will support future standardization initiatives and aid in Europe’s transition towards safer and more sustainable materials.

17 September – CRA Standards Unlocked – EU Tour
The next stop of the CRA Standards Unlocked – EU Tour is taking place in Lisbon on 17 September (hybrid event). This workshop helps SMEs understand, prepare for, and comply with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), translating regulatory requirements into practical guidance and tools and providing information about the ongoing standardization process and ways to engage in open consultations.
28 September – 2 October – ISO Annual Meeting
The ISO Annual Meeting is the main governance and policy forum of the international standards community, bringing together national standards bodies, ISO leadership, technical experts, and strategic stakeholders. The 2026 theme, ‘Building trust in a changing world’, directly addresses issues that are also central to the European standardization system. The CEN and CENELEC Acting Director General will attend the ISO Annual Meeting in Paris and represent CEN as a privileged Partner of ISO.
29 September – CEN and ETSI Workshop on EU Digital Framework Centering on the EU Identity Wallet
The EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) is set to transform secure digital identification and access to services across Europe. As implementation progresses towards 2026, CEN and ETSI are developing the standards that ensure security, interoperability, and trust. This workshop will present the latest EUDIW standards, ongoing developments, and their impact on digital identity solutions, offering participants the opportunity to learn from and engage with leading experts in the field.
