ANEC took part in CEN and CENELEC's event “Setting the Standard: A Strategic Dialogue for an Inclusive Standardization System” on 17 November 2025, where Deputy Director General of ANEC Chiara Giovannini joined a panel of societal and SME representatives. The audience was comprised of CEN and CENELEC Members and representatives of the EU institutions.

ANEC joined the ISO/COPOLCO meeting in London in May

The British Standards Institution (BSI) hosted an excellent and varied meeting of the ISO Consumer Policy Committee (COPOLCO) in London in late May. The meeting featured sessions of the COPOLCO Working Groups: a joint event with BSI on “Protecting Consumers in the Age of AI” and the COPOLCO plenary annual meeting.

ANEC launches AI Taskforce

Thanks to funding from the European AI & Society Fund (EAISF), ANEC has been able to launch a new AI Taskforce for consumer professionals. The AI Taskforce was created early February and has 9 members from 8 countries (Austria, Germany, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Greece, Spain and Italy).

Draft standard prEN 18156 on tactile lettering out for enquiry

The draft standard prEN 18156 ‘Tactile lettering - Requirements on the presentation and application of Braille and raised characters’ was out for CEN Enquiry until 24 April 2025. ANEC has played a leading role in the development of the standard and supports its adoption.
