This webinar is organized by the CEN-CENELEC SABE Topic Group Circular Economy (SABE CE-TG) with the objective of providing guidance to CEN and CENELEC technical bodies in the preparation of circular economy related standards. This workshop will provide participants with practical information regarding standardization activities and best practices related to circular economy and material efficiency topics from National, European and International standardization.

After more than 20 years serving the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC, Mrs Elena Santiago Cid, Director General of CEN and CENELEC and head of the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre (CCMC) is leaving the organizations on October 2.​

ISO/TC 260 on Human Resource Management is currently looking at preparing an international standard on ‘Guidance for risk management and the ethical use and adoption of technology’. The aim is to propose measures to mitigate the human capital risks and provide guidance for the use and adoption of technology for HR processes / practices and job roles. The ETUC is opposing the proposed work as the development of such a standard raises a number of concerns.

The European standardisation system is a global success story. After the release of the European Standardisation Strategy in 2022, it became clear that the work of standardisation was growing in its role as an integral tool of the European Single Market.

Building on the proven success of the previous SESEC phases, the European Commission together with EFTA, CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI are launching a new phase of SESEC, SESEC VI.

To gain a better understanding of industry’s needs for standardization deriving from Research & Innovation, the European Commission is planning to launch the first edition of a European Standardization Panel Survey. This survey will complement the recently adopted Code of Practice on standardization in the European Research Area, offering evidence-based results on the role of standardization in support of innovation policies.

SAVE THE DATE: The role of policy framework, standards & support tool for businesses to become climate-neutral

As part of a longstanding dialogue on transatlantic cooperation in standardization, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the European Standards Organizations (ESOs) – CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI – met on 10 and 11 November 2025 at ANSI’s headquarters in Washington, DC to exchange on the latest standardization developments in Europe and in the United States. Representatives from the US government and their European counterparts joined the discussions between standardizers.
