The Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) calculation is an auditing process aiming at assessing the automation and control aspects of building. It requires a structured chronological sequence and corresponding obligations in terms of scope, aims and thoroughness. The SRI assessment requires inspection both of physical and operational aspects of building technical systems, including automation and control of building services.

The Dutch Standardization Institute (NEN) has initiated the establishment of a European Technical Committee (CEN/TC 474) that will develop European Standards across the CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and storage) value chain. With broad participation from CEN Members and European organizations, the committee kicked off in Brussels and finalized its scope and first work programme.

After two years of hard work by 120 European experts, 10 focus group meetings, 90 working group (WG) meetings, and three revisions, the final version of the roadmap for Organ-on-Chip standardization is ready. You can download the roadmap here.

CEN, CENELEC and SHIFT2RAIL signed a partnership agreement

The Global Partnership for Human-Centric ICT Standardization Project (GIST) was officially launched on 06 Feb 2025 at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), marking a significant step towards strengthening global collaboration on ICT standardization, as part of the EU’s Global Gateway initiative.

IFAN, the International Federation of Standards Users, recently hosted an IFAN AI Workshop. The workshop explored how AI is reshaping the standards ecosystem, from development to implementation. The workshop had a strong turnout, with over 50 participants from the standards and tech communities. The engagement and interaction during the sessions reaffirmed the importance of cross-sector collaboration in shaping responsible, inclusive, and forward-looking AI standards.
