The 2023 edition of the CEN and CENELEC Standards+Innovation Awards was presented on 26 October 2023 as part of the EU stakeholder event “Making research results work for society”.

Brussels – 29 September 2021, Industrial data is of ever-increasing importance for companies in Europe and the world, and particularly so in the context of the digitization of industry. On this topic, on Tuesday 28 September, CEN, CENELEC and ETSI co-organised an online stakeholders’ workshop dedicated to exploring how standards can support the industrial data value chain.

For the 6th episode in this year’s interview series, we spoke with Enguerrand Crouzet, currently studying at EPF Engineering School. Enguerrand completed a four-month internship at CCMC, where he worked, among other tasks, on a study related to CEN and CENELEC Workshop Agreements. He shares his experience, his perspective on the value of standardization, and what it is like to be a young professional in this field.

The objective of process intensification (PI) in the context of biorefining operations is to lead to a reduction in operation costs, feedstock and energy resources, greenhouse gas emissions and higher yields, while increasing operation safety, by concentrating on technologies which can intensify processing methods and create an integrated biorefinery concept. PI methods in general and specifically for biorefining operations have not featured strongly in the vast standards literature.

Stair4Security project: conclusions and results

A new CEN Workshop is being planned as part of the activities of the EU standardization initiative “CORRO-STAR”. This project brings together several R&I projects seeking advancement in the nuclear sector in line with EU strategic goals.
