At the occasion of International Women's Day, this webinar will provide an overview of the role standards can play in support of Gender equality. It will highlight the importance of adopting a gender-lens when drafting standards for the benefit of all and present the newly adopted CEN-CENELEC Gender Action Plan (2023-2025), as well as actions taken by the global Standardization community. In particular, a specific case-study will be presented by AFNOR to showcase the Gender-Responsive Standards initiatives led by the national Members of CEN and CENELEC.

In July 2024, a new HLF workstream on Quantum let by Italy as member state has started its work. This topic is well developed under our CEN/CENELEC JTC22 which standardization roadmap on Quantum became the key material for further work of this working group. The leader of the WS16 on Quantum, Ministero delle Imprese a del Made in Italy, is organizing a workshop on which the stakeholders of the standardization system will have a chance to lead expert discussions which will be used as basis for summary report and recommendations.

In our daily life, we see more and more 'smart' products appearing, also in garments and other (protective) equipment. Standardization of this type of products was initialized in 2017. Following previous workshops, information exchange is essential for standardization activities but also legislative acts and recommendations for certification bodies. Horizontal issues that have to be solved for all sectors together. This includes to prove compliance with EU legal requirements, for instance on the protective functionalities.

This workshop is being co-organized by Project SESEI along with the EU-REI, TERI, CEN CENELEC & ECOS on 2nd Dec 2022, on the role of the policy makers and Standardisation Bodies to ensure faster transition to Circular Economy through Eco Deign & Eco Labelling, sharing of best practices and identification of areas to work together and synergies between India and EU.

This webinar discusses specific drafting issues which have shown to potentially lead to lack of compliance HAS assessments. The webinar focuses on: specific drafting rules laid down in the 'CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations - Part 3' (IR3); the formulation of verifiable and unambiguous requirements; normative references The webinar focuses mainly on homegrown deliverables and only briefly on EN ISO harmonized standards. For the latter, we refer to the previous Webinar 'Dating of Normative references in EN ISOs harmonized standards' .

CEN and CENELEC are working hard to support companies across many sectors to report on their sustainability performance under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

The Workshop will produce a CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement (CWA) which will offer a scalable platform covering the overall lifecycle, ranging from the digital twins setup, modernisation actions to diagnose and predict the operation of physical assets, to the refurbishment and remanufacturing activities towards end of life. In-situ repair technologies and the redesign for new upgraded components will be facilitated through virtual simulations for increased performance and lifetime.
