Edu4Standards.eu Launches the European Student’s Standardization Association together with CEN and CENELEC

The Edu4Standards.eu project, funded by Horizon Europe, has set up the first European student network around standardization, called the European Students’ Standardization Association (ESSA).

More than 500 students have already been engaged in the project via the Academic Standards Days organized by CEN and CENELEC Members. To maintain the interest, the project has now set up a network for students to further engage with standardization.

ESSA aims to establish a playground for the next generation of experts to learn about standardization outside the classroom and build knowledge and skills relevant for CVs. The vision is to become a youth reference in European standardization over time.

Who is ESSA for?

  • Students registered in a European university or education institute of any discipline and level
  • Mandatory: comfortable with English

Why join?

  • Build specialization in standardization with extracurricular sessions
  • Gain hands-on experience with association work and co-creation to add to your CV

  • Get guidance on how to obtain the Pan-European certificate for standardization skills (available 2027) recognized by the European Commission, CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI

  • Receive support in getting internships within standardization (available 2027)

  • Grow your network with industry and like-minded students across Europe

CEN and CENELEC Members who wish to organize activities with the group can contact kglennung@cencenelec.eu. More information and registration is available here: EDU4Students | EDU4Standards.
