Transport of Dangerous Goods

Transporting hazardous materials demands rigorous safety standards. CEN and CENELEC develop standards for tank design, protective devices, testing, and inspection. A lot of them are supporting two major international regulations in the field of transport of dangerous goods: the ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) and the RID (Regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail).

Cargo Securing and Intermodal Units

Standards define technical requirements for safely securing cargo and enabling combined rail/road transport, promoting efficiency and safety across the logistics chain.

Packaging

Transport packaging must protect goods while being sustainable. European standards guide the design of reusable and recyclable packaging, aligning with EU legislation on packaging waste.
