For over 30 years, CEN/TC 144 ‘Tractors and Machinery for Agriculture and Forestry’ has been developing standards to support activities in agriculture, forestry, and gardening.
CEN/TC 144 focuses on projects that prioritize machine safety and operator protection while also considering environmental protection, technological advancements, and efficiency. Approximately 50% of the standards published by CEN/TC 144 are developed in collaboration with ISO/TC 23.
While most of the European Standards from CEN/TC 144, including those currently in development, primarily address machinery safety in agriculture, some also cover environmental aspects, such as the application of pesticides.
These standards support both the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the Directive 2009/128/EC on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides.
