On 21 October 2022, CEN and CENELEC published new standard on cybersecurity: EN 17640 ‘Fixed-time cybersecurity evaluation methodology for ICT products’ (FiT CEM). The new standard describes how the cybersecurity of ICT products can be examined in a pre-defined time, which means within a time frame set out at the beginning of the examination. This evaluation is usually part of certification procedures for ICT products.

As part of the green transition, and due to a growing awareness on environmental aspects among businesses and customers, an increasing number of organizations are engaged in monitoring and reducing their environmental impact. CEN-CLC/JTC 14 ‘Energy management and energy efficiency in the framework of energy transition’ (JTC 14) just published new EN 17463 ‘Valuation of Energy related investments (VALERI)’. The standard is an important breakthrough in the developing field of “green finance”, and it was the result of the efforts of many European experts invested in this work during the difficult time of the pandemic.

CEN/TC 461 ‘Public Procurement’ develops standards in the field of public procurement. Since its inception in 2019, the TC’s main task has been the development of a new standard, EN 17687: 2022 ‘Public Procurement - Integrity and accountability - Requirements and guidance’, which now has finally seen the light.

The Lithuanian Standards Board (LST) has opened a public Portal for draft standards. Together with this, two new databases have been launched – Bibliographic database of Lithuanian standards and other standardisation deliverables and Standard terms database.

A new standard was recently published about the minimum safety characteristics for powered inflatable boats and rigid inflatable boats. The goal is to have increased safety for the different design categories of recreational crafts.
