The aim of the EU funded project RISEN project (Horizon 2020) is the development of a set of real-time contactless sensors for the optimisation of trace detection, visualisation, identification and interpretation on site during crime scene investigations. Data will be processed in real time and sent to a 3D augmented crime scene investigation system to produce an interactive 3D model of the scene with position and labelling of traces and relative analytical results. The identified traces will be digitally marked and inventoried and a digitalised chain of custody will be established.

European standards are a key enabler of the solutions needed for the Green Transition and contribute to a more sustainable future for Europe and the world. For this reason, CEN and CENELEC are proud to endorse the London Declaration on the commitment of international standards to climate action.

CEN and CENELEC developed a response to the consultation launched by the European Commission on its proposal for the revision of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).

On 4 October, the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favour of adopting a common charger for the EU single market. CEN and CENELEC welcome the decision and look forward to continuing to support this legislation through our standardization activities.

By applying information and communication technologies to passenger and freight transport modes alike, they can help make the way we move safer, more efficient and more sustainable.

The preparations for the High-Level Forum on European Standardization officially began on 10 January 2023, with the first meeting of the Sherpa sub-group. CEN and CENELEC are proud to be sending three experts each to the Sherpa sub-group, to contribute to the coordination of the Green, Digital, and Resilient priorities which will steer the work of High-Level Forum.

On Friday, 20 January, the Presidents of CEN and CENELEC participated in the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Forum on European Standardization. The event was an opportunity to initiate a collective reflection on future standardization priorities in support of European policies and the Single Market.

The objective of process intensification (PI) in the context of biorefining operations is to lead to a reduction in operation costs, feedstock and energy resources, greenhouse gas emissions and higher yields, while increasing operation safety, by concentrating on technologies which can intensify processing methods and create an integrated biorefinery concept. PI methods in general and specifically for biorefining operations have not featured strongly in the vast standards literature.
