During this stakeholders’ workshop organised by the European Standardization Organizations - CEN, CENELEC and ETSI - we will identify the cross-sectoral gaps and opportunities for the development of new industrial data standards in a global context.

The CEN-CENELEC Workshop on was kicked off on 24th April 2025. The Workshop’s registered participants have agreed on the first draft of the CWA.

This CEN-CENELEC workshop aims to share the findings on ‘Lens-based adaptor system for coupling fibre optic to laser sources’ resulted from a European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation project.

CEN, CENELEC and ETSI prepared a recommendation paper on Industrial Data, which was developed by the CEN-CENELEC-ETSI Coordination Group on Smart Manufacturing. The paper explores the role of standardization in managing industrial data, essential for industrial production and the lifecycle of goods and services. It emphasizes the need for interoperability, security, and effective data management to obtain optimal data usage.

A public commenting phase is organized, closing on 26th September. Comments can be submitted to the Workshop Secretary, Sarah Köhler (Sarah.Koehler@din.de), using the relevant commenting form.
