CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, welcomes the publication of EN 1384:2023 'Helmets for equestrian activities’ as a harmonized standard (hEN), after its citation in the official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) on 11 December.

The Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) calculation is an auditing process aiming at assessing the automation and control aspects of building. It requires a structured chronological sequence and corresponding obligations in terms of scope, aims and thoroughness. The SRI assessment requires inspection both of physical and operational aspects of building technical systems, including automation and control of building services.

The CEN Workshop on ‘COURAGEOUS on testing methodology for C-UAS systems’ was kicked off on 4 August 2023. The Workshop’s registered participants have agreed on the final draft of the CWA.

A Memorandum of Understanding enhances the commitment to develop maximum synergies between the different European Standards developed by EFRAG and by CEN and CENELEC in the field of sustainability reporting. The Dutch Standardization Institute (NEN) has initiated the establishment of a European Technical Committee (CEN/TC 474) that will develop European Standards across the CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and storage) value chain. With broad participation from CEN Members and European organizations, the committee kicked off in Brussels and finalized its scope and first work programme.

CEN and CENELEC support the objectives of the revision of the safety of toys Directive (2009/48/EC) and the proposal for a safety of toys Regulation (COM (2023)462) to increase children’s safety and improve protection from harmful chemicals.
