The first meeting of the new four-year term of the ANEC General Assembly was held in Brussels on 14 & 15 June 2023. It saw elections to the Office Bearer posts of the association, as well as to the Steering Committee (the board of ANEC).

CEN and CENELEC have developed a position paper on the proposed Net-Zero Industry Act. This document has been written in response to the consultation launched by the European Commission on 20 March 2023. CEN and CENELEC believe that European standards will be a vital tool to meet the high ambitions of increasing strategic net-zero technology production in Europe set by the Net-Zero Industry Act.
In SIST, the Slovenian Institute for Standardization, there are two technical boards that direct the technical work in standardization:
- a Technical Board for the general area,
- and a Technical Board for the electrotechnical, IT and telecommunication areas.
The planned Workshop will define Action Research and its role in large scale pilots. It will identify the key stakeholders involved and outline the necessary steps to conduct Action Research including planning, pre-validation, deployment, data collection and analysis.
Brussels, 9 June - With the publication of the Net-Zero Industry Act, the EU took a decisive step to support the strategic technologies that will be essential to power the green transition and equip the European industry with the tools to lead this transformation. A stakeholders’ workshop organised by CEN and CENELEC on Thursday 8 June explored how standards can drive the future of CleanTech in Europe.
EN ISO/IEC 27701 ‘Security techniques - Extension to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002 for privacy information management-Requirements and guidelines’ sets out generic requirements for a Privacy Information Management System which can be adapted by organizations according to their context and applicable obligations.
CEN and CENELEC, together with the Lithuanian Standards Board (LST), participated in ‘Making Research Results Work for Society’ on 6 June in Vilnius, by delivering a training on the implementation of the Code of Practice for Researchers on Standardization in the European Research Area.
