From 12–14 November 2025, the third Autumn School of Standardization – Academic Standards Day (ASD) took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana (UL FE). The event was part of the European Edu4Standards.eu project, funded by Horizon Europe. Organized by the Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST), in collaboration with UL FE and the student association EESTEC, the event aimed to raise awareness of standardization among students, academic staff, and industry partners.
The main objective of the event was to connect academia and industry, provide students hands-on experience in addressing real-world challenges proposed by companies, and promote an interdisciplinary understanding of both technical and societal aspects of standardization.
A highlight of this year’s event was the student hackathon, where teams developed proposals for national standards based on topics suggested by companies participating in the Autumn School of Standardization. A total of 42 students participated, delivering high-quality and innovative solutions to this complex challenge in Friday’s session.
Overall, 80 students attended daily, together with lecturers, industry representatives, and support staff. Students from the University of Maribor also joined online and participated in Friday’s hackathon in person.
