Our French Member AFNOR is organizing, as part of the EISMEA OFFSHORE WIND project, a webinar on 'Offshore wind and its standardization challenges' on 23 March 2026 (14:00-14:45).
As a key sector with great potential, offshore wind power should not be overlooked in achieving energy transition goals. Significant electricity production, low-carbon electricity, and mature technology are some of the assets offered by this sector.
The building, maintenance and operative systems of these wind farms have always presented a number of challenges, such as for instance the installation at depths of up to 50 to 60 meters. Voluntary standards then emerge as powerful tools to guarantee the safety, quality, and competitiveness of projects.
During this webinar, we will present European and international works carried out on this topic by experts and upcoming publications.
Schedule :
2 pm : Introduction & context of the day
2:05 pm : Offshore wind & standardization challenges in Europe
2:25 pm : Results of the standardization landscape & gap analysis
2:35 pm : Roadmap for the adaptation of standards to Offshore wind
2:45 pm : Q&A and open discussion
