This tender is being run in the context of a project called Readability Platforms that will, amongst other things, support the European Commission in its conformity with Regulation 1049 regarding citizen access to documents.

The impact noise and vibration, caused by the interaction between heavy vehicles and infrastructure, has on human health is a major concern in railway. Manufacturers, operators and infrastructure managers work together to develop new methods not only to mitigate the emissions but also to better measure it. Without precise measurement methods, no robust solution is possible.
After more than 20 years serving the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC, Mrs Elena Santiago Cid, Director General of CEN and CENELEC and head of the CEN and CENELEC Management Centre (CCMC), is leaving the organizations on 2 October.

He emphasized the critical role of harmonized standards in supporting the implementation of the EU AI Act, particularly in high-risk applications, and stressed that these standards offer legal certainty for AI developers.
