Who will be nominated for this year’s Standards+Innovation awards?

The call for nominations to the 7th edition of the Standards+Innovation Awards is now open and includes the biannual award for technical body officers as well as a new category for education professionals.

For the 7th time, CEN and CENELEC invite members to nominate those who have made a difference for the work on standardization for this year’s Standards+Innovation Awards. The awards recognizes the important contribution of researchers and innovators to standardization. This year, the awards will also encompass recognition for technical body officers as well as introduce a new award for those who contribute to education in standardization.

The five categories to which members can submit nominations are as follows:

  • European Research Project: awarded to a project which has successfully contributed to standardization
  • Individual Researcher/Innovator: awarded to an individual whose research/innovation has contributed to developing standards or standardization deliverables
  • Young Researcher: awarded to an early career individual who has addressed standardization in the work done for academic theses, doctoral dissertations or other university research projects
  • Technical Body Officer: awarded to a TBO who has actively collaborated with researchers/innovators in their technical body
  • Education: awarded to an individual whose efforts in the past year contributed to promoting or improving the teaching of standardization in Europe

Each member can nominate two candidates under each category, provided they have not previously been nominated for the same effort. The call will remain open until 27 August.

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony during the annual knowledge valorisation event of the European Commission’s DG RTD.
