SIST published its Standardization Strategy until 2026

At the end of 2022, the Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST) published its Standardization Strategy until 2026, outlining its mission, vision, and main goals.

The strategy is based on the Slovenian Development Strategy 2030 and other legal bases. It implies the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Slovenian standardization system, in line with the requirements of international and European standardization. SIST aims to improve cooperation, provide better standardization support and information to all stakeholders, strengthen its support to the public sector, and keep pace with the development of new technologies for a digital, green, sustainable and knowledge-based society.

The strategy is focused on four main goals:

  1. good management and efficient operation of the organization to fulfil its mission, operate efficiently and maintain international cooperation;
  2. strengthening standardization support for all stakeholders, including a systematic approach to the education of future generations;
  3. development of new areas of standardization to support the strategic development of the Republic of Slovenia by involving stakeholders in standardization;
  4. IT modernisation for an easier and more user-friendly access to SIST standards and services, together with the establishment of a digital network of co-creators.

The goals are set to support the economy and to help companies become even more competitive on the national and international market through use of standards and active participation in the standardization process.
