The EU Product Safety Award recognises product safety innovation and excellence

CEN and CENELEC are happy to support the EU Product Safety Award, organised by the European Commission, which celebrates businesses – large and small – that are going the extra mile to protect their customers and uphold the highest standards.

The Award was launched in 2019 to provide recognition and visibility to companies that put consumer safety at the heart of their business. It also aims to raise consumer awareness around product safety, and encourage more informed purchasing choices.

This year, the EU Product Safety Award is focusing on two categories - protecting the safety of vulnerable consumer groups, and combining safety and new technologies. There will be up to 12 winners in total, with gold, silver and bronze awards granted to three SMEs and three larger companies under each of the two thematic categories.

Winners will receive their Awards from Didier Reynders, European Commissioner for Justice, at a high-level ceremony on 23 September. Winning an Award will give companies widespread recognition, a boost to their reputation and a chance to position themselves as an industry leader in product safety.

To apply, companies must be based in one of the 30 European Economic Area countries (the 27 EU Member States plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). Further information regarding the categories, eligibility and the application procedure can be found here: https://ec.europa.eu/product-safety-award/

Applications are open until 30 April 2021. For companies with proven track records in consumer safety and a dedication to excellence, this Award is a golden opportunity to shine!
