Industry Advisory Forum

The CEN and CENELEC Industry Advisory Forum (IAF)

The IAF was established in 2018, providing a platform for a direct dialogue on standardization with the industry, under the leadership of the CEN and CENELEC Vice-Presidents Policy.

The main objective of the IAF is to identify standardization-relevant priority topics for industry and propose recommendations on which CEN and CENELEC can further act.

The current mandate of the IAF (2018-2021) aims at providing CEN and CENELEC governing bodies with an industry perspective, its needs and challenges regarding strategic issues such as the New Legislative Framework, the Construction Product Regulation, the Cooperation with other SDOs, the Digitalization of Industries, the Standards development processes & digitalization of standards, etc.

The IAF is chaired by Mr Bert NAGTEGAAL, from FME (NL-Federation of enterprises in the technological industrial sector), together with the IAF Vice-Chair, Mr Yann FROMONT, from Schneider and President of T&D Europe.

All members of the IAF have been nominated for a three-year mandate (2018-2021), renewable once.

Together, they bring high-level experience and knowledge in relevant areas, such as electrical and industrial power grid, construction industry, steel, digital industries, automotive industry, as well as civil aviation security.
