Nuclear energy provides around one-third of the EU’s electricity, helping to deliver low-carbon energy and meet climate objectives. Safety and security remain the industry’s top priorities.

CEN/TC 430 ‘Nuclear energy, nuclear technologies, and radiological protection’ and CLC/TC 45AX ‘Instrumentation, control and electrical power systems of nuclear facilities’, in collaboration with international partners ISO and IEC, develop standards that support the environmental, safety, and technical requirements of the European nuclear sector.
