New CWA 17675 provides a clear mapping of tools for carbon management in Europe

CEN and CENELEC we interviewed Elena SANTIAGO CID, CEN and CENELEC’s Director General, Vincent LAFLECHE, CEN’s President, and Dany STURTEWAGEN, CENELEC’s President, on the importance of standards and the road ahead for European Standardization.

This workshop is organised jointly by the CEN-CENELEC Sector Forum on Security and the EU funded project NESTOR together with nine other EU-funded projects. The aim of the action is to help producing a preliminary roadmap for standardization activities on the Border Management (BM) domain.

At the occasion of International Women's Day, this webinar will provide an overview of the role standards can play in support of Gender equality. It will highlight the importance of adopting a gender-lens when drafting standards for the benefit of all and present the newly adopted CEN-CENELEC Gender Action Plan (2023-2025), as well as actions taken by the global Standardization community. In particular, a specific case-study will be presented by AFNOR to showcase the Gender-Responsive Standards initiatives led by the national Members of CEN and CENELEC.

Organised by the CEN-CENELEC SABE Topic Group Circular Economy (SABE CE-TG) with the objective of providing guidance to CEN and CENELEC Technical Bodies in the preparation of circular economy related standards. This workshop will provide participants with practical information regarding standardization activities and best practices related to circular economy and material efficiency topics from three CEN Technical Committees.

This webinar intends to explain what measures CEN and CENELEC have put in place in order to timely respond to the new provisions of the EU Reg. 2022/2480 amending EU Reg. 1025/2012, published on 19 December 2022 in the OJEU. The new regulation shall be applied as of 9 July 2023. Main focus will be on the changes in CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations Part 2 and the impact for CEN & CENELEC Technical Boards and Technical bodies. An overview of the main modifications in the voting tools will be provided as well.

The European Standardization Organizations CEN, CENELEC and ETSI, are pleased to join forces with ENISA, the EU Agency for Cybersecurity, to organize the 8th Cybersecurity Standardization Conference: ‘Fast Evolving Landscape of EU Legislation: Challenges and Opportunities for Standardization’.

On 5 June, SBS and CEN-CENELEC are co-organising a workshop with the support of the Belgian FPS Economy. The goal of the workshop, organised under the High-Level Forum on European standardisation (HLF) and its workstream on inclusiveness in national standardisation, is to tackle issues of access and participation in standardisation at the national level and discuss and promote best practices.
