The Structured Dialogue between the Director of DG GROW.H, Ms Barbara Bonvissuto, and the CEN and CENELEC Acting Director General, Ms Cinzia Missiroli, is a regular meeting to update each other on relevant strategic matters and ensure a fruitful cooperation and exchange between the organizations.
The Institute for Standardization of Montenegro (ISME) requested a study visit in CEN and CENELEC in order to continue to improve their internal processes regarding infrastructure and resources, specifically focusing on IT solutions.

A new workshop under CEN is launched to develop guidelines for the design, planning, operation, and performance evaluation of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) supported by Local Digital Twins (LDTs). The initiative originates from an EU-funded project titled “Technological Innovation for Planning and Supporting Positive Energy Districts”. The Workshop will translate the outcomes of the TIPS4PED pilot activities, replication experiences, and related European initiatives into actionable guidance for cities and urban stakeholders. The work will complement ongoing standardization efforts within CEN/TC 465 ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities’.

CEN and CENELEC will have the privilege to host in their premises a delegation of the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), led by the CEO, Ms Chantal Guay. The main topics for discussion will be the ongoing review of EU standardization legislations, the renewal of the Canadian Standardization Strategy, discussing initiatives related to Climate Change and Sustainability at ISO and IEC, and exchanging on progresses on the Online Standards Development (OSD) and accessibility of standards
A new Workshop under CEN is being launched to elaborate on the concept of SIMBOT – an open-source, semantic expression of mathematical models of a market equipment. The initiative originates from an EU-funded project titled “Hybrid COOLing & management for IT” (HYCOOL-IT) which focuses on smart management of electricity consumption of server rooms in tertiary buildings. The Workshop will develop a CWA that concentrates on the concept of the mathematical representation of the equipment, and which could serve as the basis of a future European standard.

A new Workshop under CEN is planned which will focus on telehealth services and examine how technology can be utilized to deliver quality healthcare with less negative environmental impact. The Workshop originates from the EU project “Caring Nature” which seeks to develop solutions for reducing the impact of our healthcare systems on the environment. The work will complement ongoing standardization efforts within CEN/TC 251 ‘Health informatics’ and CEN/TC 362 ‘Healthcare services – Quality management systems’.
