The Horizon Europe project RISERS has published the first public version of its Roadmap for Industrial Symbiosis Standardization for Efficient Resource Sharing.
The document identifies priority areas where standardization can support industrial symbiosis across sectors, strengthen the link between research and innovation and standards, and facilitate the uptake and scaling of resource-sharing practices. It builds on input from CEN, CENELEC, and ISO technical bodies, industrial symbiosis practitioners, and other stakeholders, as well as an analysis of existing standards and identified gaps.
The roadmap provides non-binding, evidence-based recommendations and serves as a basis for consultation and strategic dialogue. The final version is expected by December 2026.
