New Edition of EN ISO 9001: Supporting Quality Management in a Changing World

CEN is happy to announce that it has published a new edition of EN ISO 9001 ‘Quality Management Systems – Requirements’ in parallel with ISO. As the European adoption of the world’s most widely used quality management standard, EN ISO 9001:2026 supports organizations in applying a common, internationally recognized framework for quality management across Europe.

For almost four decades, EN ISO 9001 has helped organizations of all sizes and sectors build trust, improve consistency, and deliver products and services that meet customers’ and regulatory requirements. The 2026 revision updates this framework to reflect today's business realities, including faster technological developments, increasingly complex market conditions, and evolving stakeholder expectations.

The revised standard helps organizations strengthen their quality management systems, improve operational consistency, and navigate change with confidence. Among the key updates are a stronger focus on leadership, the promotion of a quality-driven organizational culture, and greater consideration of ethics, risks, and opportunities in decision-making. It also includes additional guidance to help users better understand and apply its requirements consistently.

The publication of EN ISO 9001:2026 marks the latest step in the evolution of this internationally recognized standard, supporting organizations in their pursuit of quality, efficiency, and continual improvement.

EN ISO 9001:2026 will be made available through CEN’s National Members. Users interested in purchasing the standard should contact their national standards body.
