Call for nominations to the 2026 Standards+Innovation awards is now open!

Similarly to previous years, CEN and CENELEC invite our Members to nominate those who have made a difference for the work on standardization for the 8th Standards+Innovation Awards. The awards provide an occasion to celebrate the contribution of research to standardization.

The awards recognize the important contribution of researchers and innovators to standardization. Last year, the list was extended to also include an award on education on standardization.

Members will therefore have the opportunity to nominate candidates in four different categories this year:

  • European R&I project: concerns project which have successfully addressed standardization. Both ongoing and closed projects can be nominated. (nomination template)
  • Individual Researcher/Innovator: dedicated to an individual who has successfully integrated standardization in the innovation process in support of market uptake or developed research outcomes which have contributed to standardization. (nomination template)
  • Young Researcher: for students or researchers under the age of 30 who have integrated standardization successfully in their R&I work. (nomination template)
  • Education: dedicated to an individual whose efforts have contributed to promoting or improving the teaching of standardization in Europe. (nomination template)

Each member can nominate two candidates under each category, provided they have not previously been nominated for the same effort. The call will remain open until 27 August.

The Education award will be celebrated during the final event of the Edu4Standards.eu project in Brussels on 25 November. All members and other interested parties are invited to the event upon prior registration on the event page.

The time and place of the award ceremony for the other three awards will be announced later.
