The three European Standardization Organizations – CEN, CENELEC and ETSI – have created a consortium to respond to a call under the Single Market Programme Standardization aimed at Reinforcing the European Standardization System through Education and addressing the need for skilled experts in standardization.
The aim of the project is to support European competitiveness by:
The project builds on CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI’s active engagement in the High-Level Forum on European Standardization (HLF), particularly Workstream (WS) 1 on Education and Skills, and reflects commitments made in the “Pledge on Education & Skills on Standards” signed by a majority of HLF members. As a continuation of these commitments, the ESOs in the project will seek impact through four key actions, namely:
The ASC will provide recommendations to the project team during the drafting and content definition phases. It will contribute to monitoring progress and milestones in relation to the agreed work programme, terms of reference, and timeline.
Examples of tasks include:
The Advisory Steering Committee will consist of 12 members who, with their expertise, will complement the consortium and support the development of high-quality outputs related to the four key actions of the project.
The call for interest is open to experts that are EEA nationals from within academia, industry (including industrial associations and SMEs), policy, NSOs, and representatives of other entities who have experience within education and/or standardization.
The consortium strives to compose a committee that is diverse in age, gender, nationality, academic and professional backgrounds. The candidates that the consortium considers the most suitable group will be invited to become Advisory Steering Committee members.
The work is expected to be equivalent to 3-5 days per year over the 3-year duration of the project for which the experts will be compensated*.
Interested experts are invited to send a summary of their most relevant experience in the form of a one-page CV together with a motivation letter (max 500 words) to inno@cencenelec.eu by 20 March 2026 at the latest.
*Candidates representing members of the ESOs cannot be compensated financially within the framework of the project.
