Over the last months, ANEC has published several position papers on EU initiatives that will influence consumer policy and product legislation in the coming years.
One paper focuses on the Omnibus Directive and the Regulation on product legislation in the digital age. It examines how existing legislation can be adapted to respond to challenges brought by digitalization.
Another contribution addresses the revision of the New Legislative Framework (NLF), looking at how to ensure the framework remains fit for purpose in a changing market.
ANEC has also presented its views on the Consumer Agenda 2025–2030 and the Action Plan on Consumers in the Single Market. A dedicated Factsheet summarizes ANEC’s position.
Finally, ANEC has set out its position ahead of the revision of the Standardization Regulation, underlining that standards must not replace political decisions on issues such as safety limits or fundamental rights, while calling for stronger Commission oversight, sufficient resources for consumer participation, and balanced timelines.
ANEC continues to ensure that the consumer perspective is reflected in European standardization, helping policies and standards deliver practical benefits in people’s daily lives.
