DIN and DKE are organizing an Open Source Network on October 8th in Berlin. The workshop offers experts, practitioners, policy makers and representatives of standardisation bodies and open-source communities a platform to discuss how standardisation and open-source can best complement each other.
Background:
Open source has become a driving force for innovation in all industries, enabling rapid prototyping, collaboration and dissemination of technologies. At the same time, international and national standards remain crucial to ensuring interoperability, security and trust. Aligning open-source development with formal standardisation processes is therefore essential to promote sustainable and widely accepted solutions.
Workshop objectives
- Present current approaches and challenges at the interface between open source and standardisation.
- Share international best practices, success stories and lessons learned.
- Discuss strategies for collaboration between open-source projects, standardisation bodies and industry stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for future collaboration and joint initiatives at the global level.
We invite you to mark this date in your calendar and look forward to welcoming you to this important international dialogue on the convergence of standardisation and open source.
Feel free to forward this invitation to interested experts and colleagues and we are looking forward to seeing you there.
