Ladders, often used by workers in the construction sector, in agriculture and in the cleaning industry, come with many risks. As the work is carried out at sometimes considerable heights, it can result in fall accidents with dramatic consequences for the worker. The design of ladders, including their ease of use and robustness, can contribute to a good, safe and practice-oriented work equipment.
The Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) conducted a study on the impact of standards on businesses in the Republic of Serbia. This research was realized within the Czech program for the development of bilateral cooperation "Support for the improvement and development of the Quality Infrastructure Sector of Serbia", with support from the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
CEN and CENELEC are happy to welcome the standardization bodies of Ukraine (DSTU), Georgia (GEOSTM) and Moldova (ISM) as Affiliates. This decision furthers the consolidation of the links between the EU and the three Eastern Partnership countries.
