On 25 June 2025, the second Steering Committee meeting of the SESEI 6 project (Seconded European Standardization Expert in India) was held, gathering all project partners: CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, several Directorates from the European Commission, as well as EFTA.
The objective of this meeting was to review progress since the last meeting (held on 13 December 2024) and to discuss and agree on the next actions to be undertaken by the SESEI Expert, Mr Dinesh Chand Sharma, and by the project partners. This included the potential contribution of CENELEC in events organized by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) during the IEC General Meeting Week to be held in New Delhi on 15-19 September 2025, and the involvement of the project partners in the context of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council and in the ongoing negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement between the EU and India.
The SESEI project’s objective is to promote cooperation between Europe and India on standards and related policies and regulations, with the aim to:
- enhance the visibility of European standardization activities,
- increase cooperation between Indian and European standardization bodies, and
- support European companies facing standardization-related issues which hamper market access to India.
