EDU4Standards – Empowering Standardization through Education in Europe

EDU4Standards.eu is a brand-new research project funded by the Horizon Europe programme under Grant Agreement No. 101135705. CEN is partner in the EDU4Standards.eu, which is led by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and brings together key players in education on standardization in Europe, including 11 university partners from across Europe.

The project aims to provide a robust and sustainable pool of European professionals ready to contribute to standardization and to make Europe’s voice heard in international standardization.

EDU4Standards launched in January 2024, with the first fruitful discussions taking place at the inaugural kick-off meeting in Berlin on 22 and 23 January.

Over the next three years, the consortium aims to address key strategic objectives:

  1. Develop and pilot an innovative teaching concept for standardization (ITCoS)
  2. Raise the profile of standardization through Academic Standardization Days and events
  3. Increase higher education courses on standardization
  4. Build a community of standardization teachers and learners
  5. Set up an EU Student Standardization Association

CEN will work closely with its Members to coordinate and launch workshops and events across Europe, fostering education on standardization and training the industry of tomorrow on the European Standardization System.
