CEN Workshop on Geometric framework, coordinate systems and markers for BIM construction projects

The aim of this proposed Workshop is to provide a standardised set of consistent guidelines for handling coordinate systems, official fixpoints, surveying points and markers used in construction projects and on site for BIM construction projects.

The CEN Workshop 'Geometric framework, coordinate systems and markers for BIM construction projects' was kicked off on 22 February 2022. The Workshop’s registered participants have agreed on the final draft of the CWA.

The draft CWA “Position markers for digital applications on construction sites, structural monitoring and BIM-applications” defines position markers which can be used not only as surveyor’s control points, but also for other applications such as laser scanning, localization of autonomous vehicles, photogrammetry, or VR/AR applications.

A public commenting is organised for a period of 30 days, closing on 18 August 2023. Comments can be submitted to the Workshop Secretariat Mr Christian Grunewald (christian.grunewald@din.de) using the commenting form.

The comments received will be considered by the Workshop participants before its publication.
