CEN-CENELEC Workshop on LEVEL-UP Protocols (WS LUP)

The Workshop will produce a CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement (CWA) for a set of protocols to ensure a standardised and formalised selection of processes for Modernising, Refurbishing, Repair, Remanufacturing, and Upgrading of Large Industrial Equipment.

Applying the concepts of Digital Twin and virtual simulations, the planned Workshop will describe a set of protocols for modernising, diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, disassembling, upgrading, refurbishing, remanufacturing, recycling and reassembly and testing of Large Industrial Equipment. It will provide a formal Protocols Specifications Document (PSD), specifying for each protocol unambiguously steps, processes, deployment requirements and conditions, etc

The development of a CWA, based on the consensus of the parties, is the most suitable tool to provide policymakers and all interested stakeholders with a guide, a reference document which, although not binding, will act as a catalyst for further documents, proposals and future European projects.

This workshop is created under the currently ongoing LEVEL-UP project which is carried out in the framework of Horizon 2020.

The secretariat is held by ASI, the Austrian Standardization Body, Mr Andreas Feigl. The proposed Chair of this WS is Mr Marco FRANKE.

The kick-off meeting will be held on Tuesday, 20 December 2022 via a web-meeting/

Requests to participate in the Workshop and/or comments on the project plan are to be submitted by 8 December 2022 to WS Secretariat, Mr Andreas FEIGL, at: a.feigl@austrian-standards.at. The project plan is in the marked-up version showing the changes which have been made comparing to the document which was announced in March 2022 to better clarify the scope of the planned Workshop and to review the list of the related Technical Committees and Coordination Groups.
