SIST developed a report on the impact of standards on the operation of Slovenian companies

For a long time SIST, the Slovenian Institute for Standardization, has been trying to bring its work closer to the needs of its members and to carry it out in harmony with the wider Slovenian business environment.

The Institute decided to base its 2030 strategy on an objective view of its mission, role and work. Therefore, it realised a research on the situation in the field of standardization, including all organizations and individuals who are already familiar with standardization and standards, as well as those who should know and use standardization and standards, but who - for various reasons important to SIST - do not.

The results of this analysis are presented in the report An analysis into the impact of standards on the operation of Slovenian companies. Although these results were mostly anticipated, they are also overall very instructive and interesting. By analysing the current use of standards by Slovenian companies and the advantages that the use of standards has contributed to their operations, SIST could compare its findings with those obtained by national standards bodies  of other countries, establish the level of use of standards in Slovenia as well as the participation of Slovenian stakeholders in the standardization process, understand the perceived role of SIST among existing and potential new stakeholders, and use the findings as key sources for preparing the national standardization strategy until 2030 to consolidate and strengthen its role in the future.
