CEN Workshop announcement - Future of Social Responsibility

 

This CEN Workshop plans to share feedbacks on standardization needs in social responsibility, to analyse and to describe the current and the potential future trends in relation to the Agenda 2030 (SDGs): poverty and inequalities, demography, environmental degradation and climate change, shocks and crises, development cooperation and financing for development and technological innovation.

The planned CEN Workshop will analyse and describe the current and the foreseeable future trends of social responsibility, in order to identify potential standardisation needs.

Background

Social responsibility is defined as the responsibility of an organization for the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment through transparent and ethical behaviour that:

  • contributes to sustainable development including health and the welfare of society
  • takes into account the expectations of stakeholders
  • is in compliance with applicable law and consistent with international norms of behaviour and
  • is integrated throughout the organization and practiced in its relationships with its environment

All types of organization are concerned by social responsibility, whatever their size, activity and location: consumers, government, business including SMEs, labour, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and service, support, research, academics and others…

 

The kick-off meeting will be held on Tuesday 12 February 2021. Because of the circumstances related to Covid-19, the kick-off meeting will be online. In order to attend the kick-off meeting, please register prior to the meeting through the ZOOM link provided in the draft agenda.

 

All interested parties are invited to submit comments on the draft Project Plan to the Workshop Secretary, Mrs Cyrielle Fournier - AFNOR (cyrielle.fournier@afnor.org) by 5 February 2021. You are kindly requested to use the commenting form below.
