The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) aims to enhance EU cybersecurity by ensuring that digital products and services remain secure throughout their lifecycle. It promotes proactive risk management and accountability, enabling businesses and users to collaborate in building a safer digital future. To support CRA implementation, the European Commission has issued a standardization request to the European Standardization Organizations, focusing on both horizontal standards for a generic framework and vertical standards for specific product risks. This workshop will highlight the work on the horizontal standards required for CRA compliance.

The RISERS Kick-Off Meeting marks the launch of the Working Groups tasked with developing a standardization roadmap for industrial symbiosis. This online session will introduce the objectives, structure, and expectations of the Working Groups, setting the stage for collaboration on key standardization needs.

The CRA was enforced in all EU Member States on December 11, 2024, and will be mandatory from December 11, 2027.

The availability of digital product information based on common standards plays an important role in this. Initiatives such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and the revised Construction Products Regulation (CPR) provide the regulatory framework.

Third meeting of the High-Level Forum on Standardization will take place on January 29, 2025 in the Berlaymont building.

As a new Joint Technical Committee, JTC 23 is aiming to introduce the purpose of the committee to a wider audience of experts. The established Working Groups will introduce and present their ideas for work items and will inform prospective experts so that they can participate in the Working Groups. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback on the proposed topics. PPE Topics to be covered will include Ensembles, Comfort, Sustainability, Ergonomics, Inclusiveness, SMART, Durability, Fire and Rescue.

The new EU Nature Restoration Law is the first continent-wide, comprehensive law of its kind and is a key element of the EU Biodiversity Strategy, which sets binding targets to restore degraded ecosystems, in particular those with the most potential to capture and store carbon and to prevent and reduce the impact of natural disasters.
This webinar will present core information on the Nature Restoration Law and related activities and investigate the potential of standardization to support the objectives of the Nature Restoration Law and biodiversity policy in general.
