The aim of this event is to build upon work delivered under Mandate M/526 as issued by the European Commission, where infrastructure sectors were prioritized and their standardization needs in terms of climate change adaptation identified. We want to explore the findings of M/526 and add to that work with our stakeholders, to confirm their needs in order to tackle long term infrastructure resilience.

This webinar is organized by the CEN-CENELEC SABE Topic Group Circular Economy (SABE CE-TG) with the objective of providing guidance to CEN and CENELEC technical bodies in the preparation of circular economy related standards. This workshop will provide participants with practical information regarding standardization activities and best practices related to circular economy and material efficiency topics from National, European and International standardization.

Organised by the CEN-CENELEC SABE Topic Group Circular Economy (SABE CE-TG) with the objective of providing guidance to CEN and CENELEC Technical Bodies in the preparation of circular economy related standards. This workshop will provide participants with practical information regarding standardization activities and best practices related to circular economy and material efficiency topics from three CEN Technical Committees.

The EU has a clear expectation that the European Green Deal will be systematically supported by suitable standardization activities. The objective of this webinar is to discuss with relevant stakeholders how this expectation can be met by the European Standardization Organizations (ESOs).

This webinar co-organized by the European Union’s Resource Efficiency Initiative (EU-REI) along with the Seconded European Standards Experts in India (SESEI), CEN-CENELEC with support from the BIS, aims to exchange on the role of standards in to realise resource efficiency (RE) and circular transition (CE) in India and the EU.

This webinar on carbon neutrality will talk about:
• what carbon neutrality means and how it can help organizations meet their net zero transition ambitions
• climate claims: the type of claims made, the motivation andobjective for organizations to make claims, the challenges and benefits of making make a claim
• how standards can be used to demonstrate good practice

This webinar will:
• introduce the importance of biodiversity, related European policy and legislative priorities
• provide a snapshot of the connections between EU policy on biodiversity and voluntary standards
• reflect on the expectations of the policy makers and market players within the standardization community

This webinar will give an overview on the content of the CEN environmental approach and the new elements in the revised version. It will explain its relevance for the CEN technical bodies and reiterate the “mandatory elements” applicable since the adoption of the original CEN environmental approach (original title: “CEN approach on addressing environmental issues in Product and Services Standards”).
