Reliable standards are essential to support first responders and emergency professionals.

CEN/TC 191 'Fixed firefighting systems' publishes standards for fixed systems such as sprinklers and smoke ventilation. Many of these are cited in the EU Official Journal under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) 305/2011.

CEN/TC 192 'Fire and Rescue Service Equipment' develops standards for state-of-the-art rescue tools including fire hoses and high-rise firefighting vehicles harmonized under both the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the CPR.

CLC/TC 79 'Alarm systems' defines performance standards for a wide range of systems, including intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and social alarms. These standards also cover the service aspects like design, installation, and maintenance.

Standards developed by CEN-CENELEC/JTC 4 'Services for fire and security systems' also apply here, ensuring high-quality maintenance and repair of fire safety and security systems.
