Transport is an important player in the economy. Many European companies are world leaders in infrastructure, logistics and manufacturing of transport equipment and traffic management systems.

This is also reflected in the standardization activities, which cover classical transport modes (rail, road, maritime) and horizontal issues such as interoperability, intermodal transport, intelligent transport systems and transport of dangerous goods.
