Joint Initiative on Standardization – Update on JIS actions under CEN and/or CENELEC lead

The Joint Initiative on Standardization represents an innovative way of cooperating  among public and private stakeholders in Europe with an interest in standardization. Officially launched in October 2016, it aims at modernizing the European Standardization System with the voluntary commitments of more than 100 signatories through an initiative that is not legally binding and does not aim at replacing or interpreting the existing legal framework. Improvements are expected, among others, in the education about standardization, coordination, transparency and inclusiveness of the process, support to European business competitiveness and international dimension.
