This week, CEN and CENELEC were pleased to welcome the delegation of the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), led by CEO Chantal Guay, to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre in Brussels.
Two key standards supporting safe steam sterilization and pressure equipment have been cited in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). EN 13060:2025 on small steam sterilizers and EN 14222:2021+A1:2025 on stainless steel steam boilers now provide harmonized tools to demonstrate conformity with the Medical Device Regulation for a wide range of sterilization equipment.
On 21 January 2026, the European Commission adopted its proposal for a Cybersecurity Act 2, aiming to revise the existing Cybersecurity Act of 2019. This revision responds to the significantly evolving cybersecurity threat landscape, shaped by increasing digitalization and a more complex geopolitical environment.
