As part of the green transition, and due to a growing awareness on environmental aspects among businesses and customers, an increasing number of organizations are engaged in monitoring and reducing their environmental impact. This commitment also targets some traditional sectors, which are evolving to better address their customers’ new green ambitions.

The technical challenges that exist in the hatchery production of new and emerging Low Trophic Species (LTS) are significant, and to a large degree they are the same across species and sectors.

Brussels 24 May 2022 - Nature-based solutions are promising tools to help reduce the impact of climate change and contribute to the EU’s environmental objectives. A stakeholders’ workshop organised by CEN and CENELEC on Monday 23 May explored their many challenges and opportunities and discussed how standardization can support their successful implementation. 

Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) present quantified environmental information on the life cycle of a product, thus enabling comparisons between products fulfilling the same function. They are based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, as described in the EN ISO 14040 series of standards.

This year’s edition of the EU Green Week, which is beginning today, 31 May, is dedicated to the “zero pollution ambition”. Every year, millions of people are directly or indirectly affected by air pollution in the European Union. The transport sector is one of the major causes of its pollution and it deeply impacts the health of the population, and particularly of people who live in areas of very intense traffic.
