On Friday 9 February 2024, a group of 12 CEN and CENELEC Members launched a Shared Digital Infrastructure (SDI). At the heart of the SDI is an online Marketing Portal where CEN and CENELEC Members can advertise, request, or simply browse digital services developed by their peers.

CEN and CENELEC, together with IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) just published a new Workshop Agreement, CWA 18016 ‘Age appropriate digital services framework’. This document describes a set of processes to help design and develop online products and services with the rights and well-being of children in mind.
CEN/TC 428 "ICT Professionalism and Digital Competences" has released a White Paper on how standards on ICT professionalism can support European AI policies to embed ICT professional competence within the development of AI systems.
The CEN workshop ' Digital health innovations – Good practice guide for obtaining user consent for personal health information' was kicked off on 22 July 2022. The Workshop registered participants have agreed on the final draft of the CWA.
The CEN-CENELC Workshop Agreement (CWA) provides a set of processes for digital services when end users are children, and, by doing so, aids in the tailoring of the services that are provided so that they are age appropriate.
The Workshop Agreement is the result of the initiative of AFNOR, IEEE and VDE to identify the needs for standardization about the concept of Digital Sovereignty in the European context.
The European, as well as the global, B2B platform landscape is characterized by a high proliferation and fragmentation of diverse solutions with few signs of consolidation. Success of a B2B platform economy requires commercial platforms to be collaborative, simple, scalable, secure, and trusted.
The motivation for this Workshop came from multiple European research projects and large-scale pilots that found that they were all needing to identify the most suitable lawful basis for collecting and processing personal health data for the development, deployment, testing and evaluation of digital health innovations. This CWA aims to combine the experience of various R&I projects regarding this topic in a best practice guide on how to obtain user consent for personal health information.
By the end of 2024, USB-C chargers will become the standard charger for the most commonly used electronics in the EU after an agreement was reached between the European Parliament and the Council. CEN and CENELEC welcome this agreement and look forward to further collaboration on this matter.
