The CEN-CENELEC Workshop on 'Definition of parameters required for modelling of the material, cell and manufacturing process behaviour for battery cells for the automotive market' was kicked off on 24 May 2022.

The new Regulation (EU) 2022/2480 of 14 December 2022, amending Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 and focusing on the decisions on European standardization organisations concerning European standards and European standardization deliverables, will be applicable as of 9 July 2023.
The call for CEN and CENELEC Members to submit their nominations to the 2023 edition of Standards + Innovation Awards closed on 30 June 2023. A total of 38 nominations presented by 17 different CEN and CENELEC Members have been submitted.

On 1 July, the Croatian Standards Institute (HZN) marked its 18th anniversary. The ceremony, held at the crowded hall of Hotel International in Zagreb, was attended by HZN employees, Croatian experts and officials and representatives of European and international standardization organizations. The event was hosted by Mirjana Fijolić, Head of HZN’s PR Department.

CEN and CENELEC welcome the European Commission‘s proposal for the Critical Raw Materials Act, published 16 March 2023 and the aim to reinforce EU monitoring capacities and strengthen both the EU value chain (through the identification of mineral resources and raw materials projects in the EU's strategic interest, with strong environmental protection) and the EU external policies on CRMs. The CRMA has provided several references to the of use European Standards, how to make the relationship with international standards and what resources can be allocated to support these activities.
