Putting Science into Standards

Putting-Science-Into-Standards (PSIS) is joint initiative developed by CEN-CENELEC and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.

Its aim is to facilitate the identification of emerging science and technology areas that could benefit from standardization to enable innovation and promote industrial competitiveness.

PSIS events bring the scientific and standardization communities closer together with the aim to facilitate the exchange of views and identify areas of standardization needs.

Past PSIS events include:

  • Power-to- Hydrogen and HCNG (Hydrogen and Compressed Natural Gas), in Petten, 2014
  • Evidence-Based Quality Assurance – An Example for Breast Cancer, in Ispra, 2015
  • Safety, Performance, Second life and Recycling of Automotive Batteries for e-Vehicles, in Petten, 2016.
  • Railways of the future, in Brussels, 2017
